BECAUSE  I  BREATHE

Because I breathe, I am wrong

Because I breathe, I am treated as inferior

Because I breathe, I am deemed unworthy of respect and dignity

Because I breathe, my existence is marred by discrimination and persecution

Because I breathe, I am subjected to relentless prejudice and hatred

Because I breathe, I am denied basic human rights, as if the air I inhale is tainted with injustice

Because I breathe, my community suffers

Because I breathe, generations endure the weight of marginalisation and systemic oppression

Because I breathe, our history is marked by sorrow, displacement, and loss

Because I breathe, the world turns a blind eye to our struggles

Because I breathe, our voices are silenced, our stories untold

Because I breathe, the international community fails to recognise the magnitude of our plight

Because I breathe, I yearn for justice, for recognition of our inherent worth

Because I breathe, I dream of a world where our breaths are not stifled by discrimination

Because I breathe, I strive to shed light on the injustices we face

Because I breathe, I am determined to rise above the constraints placed upon us

Because I breathe, I resist, I protest, and I fight for a future where every breath is free from fear and oppression

Because I breathe, I implore the world to listen, to stand in solidarity, and acknowledge the suffering of the Hazara people. We are more than the breath we take; we are resilient, vibrant, and deserving of equality and justice
