WOMEN'S AGENCY

Refers to the capacity of women and girls to take purposeful action and pursue goals, free from the threat of violence or retribution. 

The three core expressions of agency are: 

• decision-making

• leadership

• collective action

WOMEN'S EMPOWERMENT

Empowerment of women can be defined as promoting women’s sense of self-worth, their ability to determine their own choices, and their right to influence social change for themselves and others.

Women's rights

They include the right to live free from 

1. violence 

2. slavery 

3. discrimination and

4. to be educated

5. to own property

6. to vote

7. to earn a fair and equal wage

As the now-famous saying goes, “women's rights are human rights.” That is to say, women are entitled to all of these rights.
